Welcome to Social, a messaging application developed by Nadeem Akhtar. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use Social on iOS and Android.

Account & profile information
- Name, profile photo, phone number, and user ID
- Authentication credentials managed through our identity provider
- Friend connections, group memberships, and contact-related data you choose to sync
Messages & content
- Text messages, photos, videos, voice notes, files, reactions, and replies
- Location pins and other media you share in conversations
- Message delivery and read-status metadata required to operate the service
Device & usage information
- Device type, operating system, app version, and language settings
- Push notification tokens (FCM) to deliver alerts
- Crash logs, performance data, and general usage patterns to improve the app
2. How We Use Your Information
- Deliver, sync, and store messages across your devices
- Enable voice and video calls, group chats, and contact discovery
- Send notifications you have opted into
- Personalize appearance settings such as themes, icons, and tones
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and develop new features
3. Message Privacy
Messages are intended to be visible only to the sender and the intended recipient(s), including group participants. Direct messages may use end-to-end encryption where supported. We do not sell your personal messages or use message content for advertising.
4. How We Share Information
We may share limited information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — trusted infrastructure partners (e.g. cloud hosting, authentication, push notifications) that process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards
- Legal requirements — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users
- With your direction — when you choose to share content with other users or third-party services
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention obligations and backup cycles.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Access, update, or delete profile information in app settings
- Control notifications, app lock, and blocked contacts
- Export or back up conversations where the feature is available
- Withdraw consent for optional permissions (contacts, camera, microphone, location) via device settings

7. Children’s Privacy
Social is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us.

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place when data is transferred internationally.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
